The Industrial Electrician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, and equipment, including motors, transformers, and generators.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues in industrial machinery and systems to minimize downtime.

  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment to ensure efficient operation and prevent breakdowns.

  • Test electrical systems and components to ensure proper functioning and adherence to safety standards.

  • Collaborate with maintenance personnel and engineers to resolve complex electrical issues.

  • Maintain accurate records of electrical work, including repairs, parts used, and maintenance schedules.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes and safety regulations.

  • Install and program PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and other automated systems.

  • Use tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment to identify issues and repair electrical components.

  • Provide technical support and training to other team members on electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada

  • Journeyman Electrician certification or equivalent qualification.

  • 3+ years of experience working as an electrician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and troubleshooting techniques.

  • Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and safety protocols.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, schematics, and manuals.

  • Experience with PLCs, control systems, and automated machinery.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in various conditions, including confined spaces, heights, and around heavy machinery.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Physical ability to lift, climb, and work in demanding conditions.

  • ?  Basic knowledge of mechanical systems is a plus.
